To Our Community:
Ecology Packaging takes our commitment to being good stewards of the environment very seriously. Ecology is committed to implementing and promoting environmental sustainability. We have established goals for the continual improvement of the company’s environmental performance and for the prevention of pollution. We aim to reduce the impacts on the environment and help our employees, supplier partners, and customers do the same. We are committed to continuously increasing efforts towards a sustainable, circular, and low-waste future. Our team is dedicated to protecting and preserving the environment by utilizing responsible purchasing practices, lean manufacturing processes, and working towards a paperless office environment.
Many of our products are made with 100% recycled content. Some products require extra strength and are a blend of recycled and virgin fiber. We have sought out and aligned ourselves with some of the most respected and conservation-minded paper companies in North America.
Most of the companies that we purchase from are subscribers to third-party certification from Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) or the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for chain-of-custody and sales tracking systems relative to the origin of both recycled and virgin fiber.
Given the wide variety of products we represent, every product has a purpose, and every purpose has a special need. Therefore, we match the end-use of the product with the appropriate paper to make it.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Ecology Packaging, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the foundation of our operations. We take pride in implementing innovative practices that minimize environmental impact and promote a greener future.
Recyclable Materials: Our packaging products are made from 100% recyclable materials, ensuring they can be repurposed instead of ending up in landfills.
Energy Efficiency: Our production facilities are powered by renewable energy sources, reducing our carbon footprint.
Water Conservation: Advanced manufacturing processes allow us to significantly cut down water usage without compromising on quality.
Waste Reduction: We follow a zero-waste policy, ensuring every scrap of material is either reused or recycled.
Sustainability in the US: By the Numbers
Recycling Rate:
The recycling rate in the USA has been a topic of concern, with only 21% of recyclable material being captured as of the latest 2024 report.
Plastic Waste:
In 2019, the U.S. generated an estimated 73 million metric tons of plastic waste. See report.
Carbon Emissions:
U.S. energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are expected to be relatively unchanged in 2024 from 2023 and to decrease by almost 1% in 2025, according to the latest reports.
